Who Is Responsible

SVG Index at svgindex.com is operated by SVGIndex Inc., based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to SVGIndex Inc. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you browse our website, search or copy icons, or communicate with us.

SVGIndex Inc. is responsible for personal information under its control. Direct privacy questions, access requests, correction requests, and complaints to hello@svgindex.com, addressed to Privacy. This policy applies to our service and communications; it does not govern independently operated websites that you reach through an author, repository, or license link.

We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy law, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and, where applicable, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Rights and obligations may differ depending on the activity and the jurisdiction involved.

Information Involved in Using SVG Index

You can browse and copy icons without creating an account or providing payment details. The application does not provide user profiles, private file storage, payment forms, or a facility to upload your own icons.

Website requests. Opening pages and loading icon files sends ordinary web requests to the infrastructure serving SVG Index. These requests can include your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser and operating-system information, referring page information permitted by your browser, and response or error details. This information supports delivery, availability, troubleshooting, and security.

Searches and preferences. The application processes search text, filters, grid density, and browsing-view choices in your browser. Search text is not submitted to a separate search service or added to the page URL. Loading search indexes or icon data can still reveal the page, library, or file requested to the infrastructure handling that request.

Communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include, such as your name, message, attachments, relevant URLs, and correspondence history. We use that information to respond, investigate the matter, and maintain a record where necessary. Please provide only information relevant to your request.

Browser Storage and Clipboard Access

Search text and selected browsing settings are held in application memory while the page is in use. The application does not save those preferences to a remote user account, local storage, or session storage. A full page reload may reset them; normal navigation may preserve state while the page remains active.

Your browser may cache pages, scripts, fonts, and icon files. It may also prefetch files to make navigation faster. Browser caches and history are controlled by your browser and can be managed through its settings.

Clicking an icon asks your browser to write the selected SVG markup to your clipboard. SVG Index does not read your existing clipboard contents. Copying is subject to browser permissions and device restrictions. After an icon is copied, your operating system, clipboard history, browser extensions, and other software you have authorized may handle it according to their own settings.

The application does not maintain a server-side database of your search terms or clipboard actions. Technical requests for the pages and icon files involved remain separate from that browser-local processing.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

The SVG Index application does not set its own tracking cookies or include advertising pixels, session-replay tools, browser fingerprinting, or a third-party analytics SDK. Its search and copying functions do not require an advertising profile.

Delivery and security infrastructure processes technical requests separately from the application. Connection information, request logs, and any storage needed for infrastructure functions are used to deliver and protect the service. The absence of an application tracking cookie does not mean that visiting a website creates no technical records.

You can use browser settings to control cookies, cached files, permissions, and referrer information. Blocking necessary delivery or security functions may affect access. Browser storage controls do not themselves delete information already included in correspondence or operational records.

If we introduce optional analytics, advertising, or another materially different use of personal information, we will explain that use and provide any notice, consent, or choice required by applicable law before relying on it. Consent to an optional use will not be made a condition of a service where that use is unnecessary to provide the service.

Why We Handle Personal Information

We limit the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information to purposes reasonably connected with operating SVG Index or otherwise permitted by law. These purposes include:

  • Delivering pages, icon previews, search indexes, and SVG data.
  • Maintaining service availability and diagnosing technical problems.
  • Protecting the website against abuse, unauthorized access, and disruptive traffic.
  • Answering support, licensing, copyright, and privacy inquiries.
  • Investigating reported errors and rights concerns and keeping appropriate records of their resolution.
  • Complying with legal obligations and establishing, exercising, or defending legal rights.

Where consent is required, we seek consent appropriate to the information and purpose. For example, sending an email allows us to use its contents to address the matter you raise. That does not give us blanket permission to use your message for unrelated marketing. Collection, use, or disclosure without consent is limited to circumstances allowed or required by law.

The application does not make automated decisions about visitors that have legal or similarly significant effects. We do not need sensitive personal information to provide icon browsing and copying.

Service Providers and Other Disclosures

Infrastructure and communications providers may process information on our behalf to host and deliver the website, support network security, handle email, or provide necessary technical support. Information shared for these purposes is limited to what is reasonably needed for the function involved. We remain responsible for personal information under our control and require appropriate protection when a provider handles it on our behalf.

Icon assets, search indexes, and fonts used by the application are served from the website. Your browser does not need to contact an external icon API or Google Fonts service to display them. Choosing an external author or license link creates a separate request to that website.

We may disclose information when legally required, in response to a valid legal process, or where permitted to investigate abuse or protect the rights, property, or safety of affected people or the service. We assess the request and limit disclosure to information relevant to its lawful purpose.

If the business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, any transfer of personal information must comply with applicable law and appropriate confidentiality and use restrictions. A business transaction does not remove the protections that apply to personal information.

You can contact hello@svgindex.com with questions about the categories of service providers involved in processing your information.

Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by law. The relevant period depends on the record and its purpose rather than a single retention period for every category of information.

Operational records may be needed to investigate errors, address security incidents, or prevent abuse. Correspondence may be retained to resolve an inquiry, document a rights request, or establish what was reported and how it was handled. Legal requirements, unresolved disputes, and preservation obligations can require particular records to be kept longer.

When personal information is no longer needed for an authorized purpose and no retention obligation applies, we securely delete it or make it anonymous. Information in backups may remain until the applicable backup cycle expires and must not be restored for an unrelated use.

Browser-local search settings, cached assets, and clipboard history have different lifecycles from operational records. You control your browser and device storage. Contact us if you want information about records under our control or wish to request deletion; we will explain any applicable retention requirement or exception.

Security and Processing Locations

SVGIndex Inc. is based in Canada. Information handled by infrastructure or communications providers may be processed in Canada or other countries where those providers operate. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction.

Where information is transferred to a provider, applicable privacy obligations continue to apply. We require safeguards appropriate to the information and the processing involved, and address additional transfer requirements where the law requires them. You can ask us about the processing of your information outside Canada at hello@svgindex.com.

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including restricting access to those who need it for an authorized purpose and protecting systems used to operate the service. No method of internet transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Do not send passwords, payment-card details, confidential client files, or unnecessary identity documents in a support or licensing message. If a privacy or security incident requires notification under applicable law, we will provide the required notice.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law and its exceptions, you may request access to personal information under our control, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. You may also withdraw consent for an activity that relies on consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Depending on the law that applies to you, additional rights may include deletion, restriction of processing, objection to particular uses, or portability. These rights are not identical in every jurisdiction and do not require the deletion of records we must lawfully retain.

Send a written request to hello@svgindex.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. Describe the information or interaction involved and the action you are requesting. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity or authority before disclosing personal information; please do not send identity documents unless we explain why they are necessary.

We respond within the period required by the law governing the request. If an extension, fee, or refusal is permitted and applies, we will explain it as required, including available review or complaint options. We do not require you to create an account merely to make a privacy request.

You can also manage browser permissions, clear local browsing data, and choose whether to use clipboard copying or follow external links. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, and declining necessary processing may prevent us from completing a particular request.

Questions and Complaints

Raise privacy concerns with SVGIndex Inc. at hello@svgindex.com, addressed to Privacy. Include enough detail for us to understand what happened, the information involved, and the outcome you are seeking. We will review the concern and respond through an appropriate contact channel.

If your concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. Where the matter falls under federal Canadian privacy law, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy authority with jurisdiction where you live.

Children’s Information

SVG Index is a general-purpose icon resource. The application does not offer accounts, social messaging, or forms designed to collect personal information from children. Browsing icons does not require a child’s name, age, address, or other identifying profile.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should not be retained, contact hello@svgindex.com with the relevant details. We will assess the report, verify authority where necessary, and handle the information in accordance with applicable law.

External Websites and Policy Changes

External websites have their own privacy policies and controls. Their operators are responsible for information you provide to them or that they collect when you visit. Review their policies before submitting information or installing software.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service or applicable requirements. The effective date appears at the top of this page. We will provide additional notice of material changes and obtain further consent where required before using personal information for a new purpose.

For the rules governing use of SVG Index, read our Terms of Use. For the permissions attached to icons, read our Icon Licensing page. You can contact SVGIndex Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at hello@svgindex.com about this policy.
